In conjunction with the launch of SUARAM’s Human Rights Report Overview 2022, SUARAM would like to invite fellow human rights defenders and community organisers to nominate an exemplary community who have tirelessly fought for human rights in Malaysia.

 

The award aims to recognise and honour their contribution to the human rights cause and to remind all Malaysians of the invaluable role played by these communities across the country in fulfilling our collective aspiration of a democratic and human rights-friendly Malaysia.

The criteria of selection will include but are not necessarily limited to: the impact and contribution of the organization; outreach effort by the organization; and other criteria the panel of judges consider relevant to the award.

 

The winner of SUARAM’s Annual Human Rights Award will be announced during the launch of SUARAM's Human Rights Report 2022 Overview in December and the winner will be awarded prize money and a certificate recognizing their contribution to human rights causes.
